Vale Rodeo 2009

As promised, here are some pictures taken at the Vale, Oregon rodeo this year.

This picture is of my nephew Conrad, (The one in the camo shirt) preparing to get into the pig scramble. Now for those of you who have never heard of such an event, this is where there are a ton of kids and about 5 piglets, that they turn loose. The kids then need to pick-up the pig and carry it back to the horse trailer. They then get to take this piglet home for a pet, bacon, or whatever.

This was perhaps the greatest attraction at the rodeo. A local vendor had set up a mechanical bull for the public to ride. Now depending on your age, experience, and whether you were sober or not, determined how fast and quickly the "bull" moved. My family spent a fair amount of time trying there hand at the ride. Pictured is my brother-in-law giving the bull a run for its money. Unfortunately, this is one of the only pictures I have of the guys on the bull that stayed on long enough for the delay my camera has on it.

Here is a picture of Gavin resting on Daddy's shoulders, taking in all the sites a rodeo has to offer.
