Party, Party, Party

Well I guess it pays to have your children with birthdates pretty close together. My baby, Gavin, turned 2 on June 25 and Ashlyn reached the 4 year mark on the 30th. Since they are still so young, I was able to get away with having one party for both.

The kids got a pool from grandma Hay with a built in slide. They had fun, taking turns going up the makeshift stairs and sliding into the landing area. All went well, until the "pool diva" Miss Ashlyn Marie didn't want to share with her older, much rowdier cousins. While the kids were having fun in the pool...all of us adults were working our a**es off if the hot sun trying to put together a swing set, complete with climbing wall and slide...we finally got it together and the kids LOVE it!
One of the many, MANY presents she got. This I think is her tinkerbell puzzle. She is really into tink and the Disney princesses.

Gavin, our little cowboy was having a blast opening all the wonderful gifts he got. He really didn't care what the presents were, he just enjoyed ripping the paper off as fast as he could and moving on to the next one. It makes me wonders, why, do we as parents work so hard at making our kids' parties so huge? Hmmm
