Carousel at Salem

Well unfortunately, Gifford was not able to make the trip to the coast with us, welcome to the life of a military family...so we ended up taking his mom who had never been there....what a great time we had.

The first day there was spent just lounging around and such. The next morning we went to Salem, where a local theater was showing kid's movies for free...my kids had never been to a theater before so this was quite an experience. Ashlyn had a good time but sister-in-law Cori and I spent the time, chasing Gavin up and down the isles and finally taking him out into the lobby until the movie was over.

In Salem there is this really cool park that has an old fashioned carousel in it. So after eating lunch and playing in the park, we went into the building where the carousel was. The kids got to pick out the horses they wanted and away we went...Ashlyn, being a huge fan of Mary Poppins was expecting the horses to jump of the merry-go-round and was a bit disappointed that they didn't. They absolutely loved this thing and wanted to go over and over again. Although mom was getting dizzy, we rode the ride several times.
