Chistmas Eve/Day 2010

After tracking Santa's journey on NORAD all day, the church candle light service, and mom's Christmas Eve get-together, opening our new jammies, writing a letter to Santa complete with cookies and milk, apple slices for the reindeer, The Night Before Christmas read and teeth brushed and prayers, (whew!)we finally got the kids settled down at about 10:30. This proved to be a long night for mom and dad! We finally got to bed around 2:00 a.m. with Ashlyn up at 3 ready to open presents. I don't think so....she was so excited when she saw all the stuff! Got her back to bed, only to have the dogs wanting out at 4 and Ashlyn up again at 6... *sigh*. She was not impressed when she was told that she had to wait for her brother to wake up.

Letter to and from Santa

The stockings were hung on the mantle with care

New sleds! We finally got enough snow this year for sledding, however, it was all gone by Christmas and we have yet to get enough for sledding again. They are still new.

As my hubby says, "Looks like Christmas thew up here"

Two very happy (and impatient) kids Christmas morning!

There were so many presents, the kids didn't know where to go first. Thanks so much for Renee and Buster for giving us many "gently used" toys. It made our Christmas very special considering how tight it is with Gifford and I both being unemployed.

The hit of the year. Each of the kids got the pillow pet they asked for. They were very excited to get exactly what they asked Santa for!

After opening presents, we had waffles for breakfast and prepared to eat dinner at my Aunt's house with cousins there also. There we ate tons more food and everyone (besides myself, go figure) got in a much needed nap!

We finished off a great day with all of us sitting around the table, singing songs and listening to my talented cousin Derek Kygar play the guitar. This was a Christmas no one will ever forget.
