Wow...I can't believe it has been since Easter since I posted on the blog. My apologies to those of you who follow, especially my dear cousin Erin, stationed so far away in Germany. If it wasn't for FaceBook, she would never know what was going on in our lives. We have had many changes since our last post so I will try to fill you in as I go over the last four months.
We will start with school...I was moved from the elementary a couple of years ago into the JH/HS. There I taught 7-12 computer science, art and home ec. These are some pictures of student activity in the little place of Harper School.

Here we have Tanner. We were making masks in my JH Art class and he decided to paper mache his face so that his mask would fit perfectly. Now if you knew this young man, you would know how incredibly hard it was for him to be still, and quiet, while the stuff was drying...This was what he looked like after the stuff was put on.

After the trauma of the mask not working...this was what some of these students came up with. Although the detail in the picture isn't great, they turned out amzaing!

This picture was taken durning my HS art class. This is brother and sister Alex and Patrick...not sure what they were doing, but it was a great picture opportunity.
In my home economics class this year, we did a unit on child development. We borrowed "Baby Think it Over" from the county health department for these students to experience what it would be like to have a baby all the time. Needless to say, I got several phone calls in the middle of the night, or weekend, asking me to met them somewhere so that I could remove the batteries. In their defense, the babies were a bit faulty and would cry for several hours with out being consoled. (Which they are not suppose to do). The only thing I had to say was "Welcome to Parenthood!"

Julie called me in the middle of the night to meet her in Vale to disable her baby. She even offered me her car in exchange for the kid to be quiet!

The resident "Rico Suave", or the "Walking Hormone" Jerry. He used his baby as a "Chick Magnet" but did surprisingly well, only haven shaken the baby twice...

Marissa, Mars, bless her heart...met her at a track meet in the pouring rain to take the baby off her hands. She truly tried her hardest!

Perhaps the biggest surprise. Patrick will make an amazing father. All in all, the project was a great success and the students' eyes were opened on how being a parent is hard. Great job guys!
