Presenting...Cinderella and Scooby-Do!

So this year, the costumes still fit from last year, and the kids were happy being Cinderella and Scooby-Do again. Ashlyn got a new crown to finish off her ensemble, a Gavin got to wear his new black shoes. We ended up going to about 10 houses in all, and then came back to grandma's to hand candy out. It seems the kids have just as much fun doing that than the actual trick-or-treating. Go figure.

Pumpkin carving

A bit out of order, but the day before Halloween, we spent the afternoon carving pumpkins. This was quite the experience, since neither of the kids remembered doing it before. Ashlyn decided she didn't enjoy the "pumpkin goo" so she decided she would rather paint her pumpkins. Gavin on the other hand was right in the middle of it all. Messy MESSY, MESSY!

This was the kids' favorite. Not to bad without a pattern. It just took forever.

Ashlyn helped draw the face on this one. It looks a little silly but not too bad for a first try.

If you couldn't tell, this is supposed to be Frankenstein. It was the last pumpkin carved and I was getting a bit tired. It was also getting dark.

Mr. Cheese man, coloring his pumpkin.

Ashlyn scooping out the "goo". She would not take that silly crown off for nothing...

Loved this picture. What a handsome young man!

Ashlyn's turn

Halloween/Birthday Party

Ashlyn's Friend Lucy had a birthday party on Halloween day. The kids got to wear their costumes and even "Cowboy Matt" came with his pony Pepsi for the kids to ride. Then it was back home for a nap before we went trick-or-treating........ It was a great day!

Gavin had blue frosting all over his face.

Taking advantage of their spacious living room. Scooby Do, driving the tractor on the coffee table.

Just a general picture of the party. The lady in green is one of my dearest friends Kelsey Zimmerman, (wife to "cowboy Matt".) We have been friends for about 30 years. She has a daughter that also goes to Ashlyn's preschool. Seeing them play together reminds me of Kelsey and I when we were that age. It's amazing how things come in full circle.

This is one of my favorite pictures to date of the kids. They actually got on the horse without mom and rode him around the parking area. What a fun time the kids had
