Life is back to...normal?!?

Well, here I am in our apartment in Pendleton. We finally have cable, and internet, and now we have something besides lawn chairs to sit in... This all happened today. Gifford and I decided it was time to give up our "college furniture" and buy something new...we got a sectional couch, sage greenish, microfiber...what I like the most is , the cushions don't come off every time you sit down on it..talk about comfy. I would include a picture but alas I left the cable to my camera at mom's house. One would never really understand how important these things are, and how reliant we have all become on technology except that I was locked in this apartment (not literally) with two preschoolers, too windy to go to the park or anything...and not able to go anywhere, waiting for the cable/Internet guy and the couch delivery. *sigh* I guess we learn to appriciate things once we have them.

Good-bye is so hard...

Yesterday we put my foreign exchange student, Maria Lieberatski back on the plane for Germany. It was so hard saying good-bye to someone who has touched your life...even so briefly, I will miss her very much next year!!

Well...it'sdone

We finally had our closing on the 11th. I took the final load of stuff up that morning, and we had everything cleared by 4:30 pm. What a relief! We are now living in a small apartment in Pendleton what time we aren't at grandmas in Adrian. Gifford is busy with guard stuff (Drill, AT) virtually all month so we will be in Adrian most of the time.

Here is Ashlyn, our bathing beauty relaxing in grandma's yard. This was taken a couple of weeks ago, before it was raining literally every blessed day.

Gavin was playing with his truck, and his swimtrunks were hanging half assed, I mean half massed. :) I was such a beautiful day!

Below is a picture taken from the balcony of our apartment in Pendleton. It is such a beautiful view, and best of all, we can see the rodeo grounds from our porch. This will be very convenient for Round-up time!!

Hurry up and WAIT!!!

Well, hoping to close on the 28th of May did not happen. Hoping to close on the 8th of June doesn't look like is going to happen either. I talked to the Realtor today, and he assured me that the documents are on there way. They should be here sometime today...then we must find time to sign, and then it goes back to the lender, has to be approved, and then the checks will be cut. They tell me all should be done by Friday...forgive me for not holding my breath...I knew things were going to smoothly...

The kids have been enjoying having mommy around more the last couple of days. Although we have spend most of our time together in the car, going back and forth, they don't seem to mind. I am blessed to have children who travel relatively well! Hopefully we will get this house thing finished soon and I can truly enjoy my summer break.

School's out for summer!

Hello all. Finally, school is out. Unless my coworker has her baby early, (she teaches summer school) I am out for a long awaited break! So, I am here in LaGrande, getting our final stuff out of the house so that we can hopefully close sometime this week. Gifford is trying to get an apartment to live in, and we plan to be spending most of the summer together in Pendleton.

On a sadder note, today would have been dad's 81st birthday. Mom went down to Aunt Pat's house and put some roses in the river. One for each of us. I cannot believe he has been gone a little over 6 months. CRAZY! I am so thankful that we put that party together for him last summer. It was something I know he treasured.

Well kids are asleep, and there is still soooo much to do!
